What television show stands the test of time?
I love Lucy! I can watch this show for hours & hours on end! It's just too damn funny. ("Lucy, you got some splainin' to do!!")
A second fave classic tv show that stands the test of time would be The Brady Bunch. I mean who doesn't love bellbottoms & Davy Jones?!!! ;)
So, I'm feeling very very nostalgic right about now since I just spent almost an hour watching the old Backstreet Boys' videos on the net.
Why? Well, I just found out that the boys are releasing a new album (minus one Kevin Richardson), and that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Yes, in my teenage years I was one of THE BIGGEST BSB FANS on the planet!!! Not so much anymore, but they still make me go all fangirl for them, lol. :p
I mean, I did it all. Bought every single magazine they ever appeared in (even if it was just a teeny tiny picture), bought every CD (sometimes even twice if a new edition came out with just one new song, lol), had the posters, saw them in concert, taped every single tv appearance, and tons more. And I didn't even have a computer at that time, just imagine how obssessed I would've been had I had a computer back then. ;)
I was so obssessed I even hated N'SYNC!!! Oh, yeah, i would get into heated arguments over which boyband was the best. Justin? Oh yeah, he was my enemy. LOL!!!! :p
Anyway, the fangirl in me became dormant, and when I would listen to a random song on the radio I would sigh and remember the good old days.
You can say and think what you want about them, but these guys can sing. And really, how many pop acts nowadays can actually sing acappella & ROCK!? Not many.
I guess what I still love about them in a small way is that they are completely unapologetic about the fact that they are a pop group. That's what they are and they wouldn't have it any other way.
Now at 27 yrs. old my musical tastes have changed a bit, I've gotten a bit tired of mainstream music (though im still a Top 40 girl at heart), and have become more familiar with Indie Bands and Asian music (Pop & Rock). But finding out the guys are going to be having a new album out made me excited (even if I never bought their last album).
I love singer/songwriters, rock bands, etc., but I miss the good old happy music from the 90's. Most people tend to put down pop music, but think about it it's called pop which comes from popular, so my guess is that a great number of the people that diss pop are probably closeted fans, lol.
Not me, Im cursed with liking every single type of music genre out there (some more than others), which makes me not exactly fit in anywhere, and that's fine with me. ;)
Am I going to buy the new CD? That's still to be decided (the new song is absolutely beautiful, though). But I know I'll always look back to that time when all I cared about was BSB with a big old silly smile on my face.
So dust off your old BSB CDs and Keep the Backstreet Pride Alive!!!!
P.S. in case you want to groove to some good old Backstreet videos, here's the link of the ones I was watching before. ;)

Here's a sample of the new song. Enjoy! (From TMZ.com)
P.S. 2 As you can see, I'm changing the direction of this blog a bit. Im still going to talk about my favorite TV shows, but Im also including music, books and other stuff into the mix. ;)
Has anyone read Anne Rice's Memnoch The Devil?
I started to read it a few months ago and I'm finding it incredibly boring! I'm stuck halfway through the book. Now, I always finish whatever book I'm reading no matter what. But I'm finding it very hard to finish this particular one! *sighs*
I would just like to know if the second half is worth the read. 'Cause if it's not, then im not reading it.
So, if anyone's read it, let me know. ;)
Hugs!
P.S. Vox needs some smileys or something. LOL! :p
What are five things that most people don't know about you?
Submitted by mika.
1. I absolutely love Disney Movies. Whether it's Disney DVDs or Disney Channel movies, i simply adore them!
2. I would love to become a Film director. Im a huge fan of movies and love to see how movies are made, and one day I'd like to be the one that gets to decide how a movie gets made.
3. I can be the biggest clown EVER! I can just be silly silly silly. Most people know me as shy, quiet & nice, but I can be quite crazy & silly a lot of the times.
4. I used to be in a choir when I was in elementary school, and I always regret leaving it way too soon.
5. I can have a wicked & dark sense of humor sometimes. The majority of people have no idea about this, lol!
Only 5? There's so many things people don't know about me. LOL!! :p
that I want to see this movie?
Yes, the Bratz live action movie... is it wrong I actually want to see this movie? LOL!! :p
God, I'm a sucker for Teen Movies! I can't help it!! Teen movies are one of my guiltiest pleasures!!!!
Plus I'm an avid collector of these dolls, so that's another reason I'd like to see it.
Of course, I'm not about to go see it in the theaters, I'm not that insane!! Hehehehe!
But I will rent it or something. :p

How many times do you usually re-edit posts? What is the most common reason for doing so?
Submitted by Mr. Guilt.
I usually re-edit posts when there's a spelling error. And it happens often, Maybe a letter's missing from some words or sometimes I just forgot to post something and I go back and add it later.
So, as you can suspect I had forgotten about this blog once again. It's not even cute anymore, it's annoying. (Me forgetting, not the blog, hehehe.)
I swear if it wasn't for that VOX newsletter I would have completely forgotten about this blog a long long long time ago.
Thanks for the newsletters VOX! Keep 'em comin'!
============================
So anyway, I bring you today one of my 90's guilty pleasures!! ;)
Before there was an Elliot Stabler & Olivia Benson (L&O: SVU), there was Chris Lorenzo & Rita Lee Lance!!
They were the hottest detectives of the 90's.
The Place: Palm Beach PD (it was filmed in California, though.)
The Show: Silk Stalkings
The Actors: Rob Estes & Mitzi Kapture
I absolutely LOVE this show!!! Ok, so it's no SVU, but it was awesome!!
Sure the colors of the sets & clothes were bright enough to make you blind, the writing wasn't the absolute best and some the show's plots were pretty unbelievable, but that's all part of what makes this show so great.
But the best part of the show were the two leads. Rob Estes as Sgt. Chris Lorenzo & Mitzi Kapture as Sgt. Rita Lance.
The chemistry between these two cannot be beat! You want sexual tension... you got it! And very out in the open and clear for everyone to see. The even kissed a few times while being undercover. None of that SVU-Olivia-&-Elliot-we're-best-friends-but-we-secretly-have-the-hots-for-each-other-but-won't-fess-up-to-it thing.
No way! Rita & Chris were the cutest best friends to ever appear on a TV screen, they hug, hold hands, the works. But they would let each other know (and the viewers) that they would totally get together if the opportunity presented itself. And they did!!! Right in Season 5! And it was good!! LOL!
I am lucky enough to own Seasons 1 & 2. I'm just finishing the second season now, and it's just too good.
And I so want the other three seasons. (The show lasted 8 seasons, but only the first 5 are the ones that are worth your time 'cause Chris & Rita leave the show after the 5th season.)
